Eligible Filipinos can invest from ₱5,000 in the latest Philippine government retail treasury bond and receive interest every three months.
MANILA, Philippines, September 29, 2026 | GCash is making Retail Treasury Bond 32 (RTB 32) available through GBonds, powered by Philippine Digital Asset Exchange (PDAX), Inc. and PDAX Securities, in partnership with the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr). The offering gives eligible users a convenient way to invest in a bond issued by the Republic of the Philippines, starting at ₱5,000. The primary offer runs from September 29 to October 7, unless the BTr closes it earlier.
RTB 32 has a 2.5 year term and will be issued on October 12, 2026, with maturity on April 12, 2029. It pays interest quarterly at a fixed rate of 6.875% per annum, subject to 20% withholding tax. At this rate, a ₱5,000 investment would earn approximately ₱68.75 per quarter after withholding tax.
By lowering the starting amount and making government bonds available through the GCash app, GBonds helps make formal investing more accessible. Eligible users do not need a bank account to register. RTB 32 also marks 25 years of the Philippine government's retail bond program, with proceeds helping fund public priorities such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure.
“Investing shouldn’t feel complicated or out of reach. Through GBonds, we want more Filipinos to have access to simple and trusted ways to grow their money. With just ₱5,000, they can start investing in the Philippine government and earn interest every three months,” said Darvin Su, General Manager for Wealth Management at GCash.
To invest, users must be at least 18 years old and fully verified on GCash. In the app, go to Invest > GBonds, complete the registration, and add funds to the GBonds wallet. Then, select RTB 32 marked “Pre Sale,” enter the investment amount, review the details, and confirm the order. Confirmed orders are final and cannot be cancelled.
RTB 32 is considered a low risk investment. Its terms provide for repayment of the principal at face value at maturity. Investors who sell before maturity may receive more or less than their original investment, depending on market conditions. Interest is subject to applicable withholding tax. Investors should consider whether the 2.5 year term is appropriate for their financial needs.
