2025 AI Fest: In a bid to strengthen AI development in the country, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) leads the 2025 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fest, a three day nationwide initiative held at the Iloilo Convention Center (ICON) from August 11 to 13, 2025.
With the theme, 'Coding a Better Future: Responsible AI for Cities and Communities', the 2025 AI Fest explores ethical, inclusive, and impactful AI solutions to address challenges in communities.
Activities of the three-day event include the AI Hackathon, AI Technical Conference, Sine AI, and AI Exhibits. Organizers of the event include the following: Department of Science and Technology Region VI, the Unified Movement in Western Visayas to Accelerate Startup and Spinoff Development (UMWAD) Western Visayas, Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU), West Visayas State University (WVSU), Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Association of the Philippines, Iloilo Business Club, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iloilo Chapter, and Innovate Iloilo.
AI Hackathon
The AI Hackathon is a nationwide showdown of student innovation, pairing them with industry experts. Participants include ten teams of three to five students from different regions in the country. The AI Hackathon is co-organized with UMWAD Western Visayas.

The AI Technical Conference is a three-day convergence composed of plenary discussions on AI - AI updates, industry trends, and presentation of AI research and development. The AI Technical Conference is co-organized with the Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (RASUC).
SineAI
SineAI bridges AI to the creative community - filmmakers, students, and enthusiasts. The activity includes SineAI Talks and SineAI Workshop centered on including AI in the creative process - filmmaking, scriptwriting, editing, animation, and visual effects. The activity is co-organized by West Visayas State University (WVSU), Western Visayas Regional Development Council - Regional Culture, Heritage and Arts Committee (RDC-RCHAC), and the Iloilo Business Club.
